Those students were placed in what were believed by all to be "unwinnable" ridings (the NDP included thought so) because they were previously strong Bloc ridings. Accordingly, the students did not really campaign (in fact, one of them was the campaign coordinator for Montreal MP Mulcair so didn't run her own campaign).
