Have you considered that maybe you ...Dr. Saideman,<br /><br />Have you considered that maybe you were wrong and that no matter the rationalization the surge has not worked? <br /><br />I recall a number of analysts were opposed to the surge from day one.<br /><br />Politics is likely the reason Obama decided to surge, but that does not mean it was justified. This is especially the case when people's lives are on the line and from what I have read the surge increased the number of troop and civilian casualties. Ultimately, that is not progress and as you said even what could be pointed to as "progress" is likely unsustainable.<br /><br />Obama deserves to get hammered on his Afghanistan policy, but unfortunately Romney is unlikely to make accurate criticisms.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
