Ironic Intelligence Insight

Yet another story that the Bush Administration crossed a bunch of lines to engage in information-gathering. While the extension of power for the sake of more power has a logic to it (often self-defeating in a balance of power kind of way), I suddenly realized that this quest for more information made no sense since this was a faith-based administration that ignored contradictory information.

Perhaps they were seeking more information to justify their various efforts, but it reminds me of something I heard early and often in the Pentagon--intel drives policy, not the other way around.
