Racist Computers

This reminds me of an episode from "Better Off Ted" early in the season in which the electronic system they previously used before (which was a motion detector) was switched to a newer cheaper technology in their building that uses light refraction. Because of this, it can't see African-American people. So, their black employees have to be accompanied by a white employee in order to open doors or turn on the lights or to go in an elevator. The reason they didn't switch back before was because this technology was much more cheaper. Due to many of the complaints of their employees, they eventually switch back to the motion sensors. After seeing this article on Huffington post, I wondered if HP was inspired by this episode for the technology. lmao
