Tis just a bit ironic that robotic warfare has accelerated since 2001 (A Space Odyssey). Here is a good piece discussing the US UAV (unmanned aerial vehicle) effort over the skies of Af-Pak.
Like everything else in this part of the world, the tradeoffs are complex. It is instructive that it seems like a significant part of the UAV effort in Pakistan is coordinated with the Pakistanis.
