The killing of a Thai general while being interviewed sent more than a few shockwaves out. I have not been following the Thai situation closely, but I don't think I am the only one who is confused. Was he killed to shut him up? Because he was working with the protesters? Because he may have been involved in some previous repression?
I don't know, but it puts into perspective whenever anyone in the US, Canada or Europe asserts that they are facing a crisis in civil-military relations. The Thais have a real crisis on their hands. We have some serious issues, but nothing that will involve gunshots.
