One of the constant complaints about web-based communication--email, twitter, facebook, blogs--is that it is hard to communicate tone, especially sarcasm. Of course, this is not just the internet, as folks have long indicated that they don't get my sarcasm at times.
Anyhow, there is now a solution, at least for the web-sarcasm. A sarcasm font! Unfortunately, blogger does not allow for much font flexibility, but the basic idea is to put stuff in italics but leaning left rather than right. So, that solves the email problem but not the blog/twitter challenge. Of course, the real challenge is getting the target audience of the sarcasm understand what the reverse italics means. Still, one step at a time.
