Despite all my whining about TTU and its tragic flaws, I consider myself lucky to have traveled through Lubbock along the winding road of my academic career.
It was a good first job as I had plenty of time to get research done, learn how to teach, and accompany my baby/infant/toddler/child to the emergency room. More importantly, at the time, for a very short time, there were a group of wonderful people who made lunch and various get-togethers endlessly entertaining. I had dinner with one of them tonight, and it reminded me of how I survived six years in West Texas.
Mucho gracias.
