Quick Culture Notes Down Under

A few thoughts spurred by early morning interactions:

• Aussie newspapers are freakin' wide. Too wide, cannot be read with only one hand.  
• Aussies, like Canadians, do far better pronouncing my last name than Americans.  What does that mean?
• I learned more about South Asia/Pacific in one reading of a local newspaper than in an average year back home.
