Reading Doc Jensen at EW and he raises a great question:
Is Charles Widmore really Professor Snape--apparently bad but secretly good?
Or more accurately perhaps, there are no good guys and no bad guys. Everyone is complex. People do the wrong things for the right reasons (Jack), the right things for the wrong reasons (???) and often the wrong things for the wrong reasons (Ben?). The closer we get to the end, the more convinced I am that none of the non-survivors (Jacob, Smokey, Widmore, etc) are good guys. Trying to code folks as good or bad is probably pointless.
Doc raises something else--that Charlie was not thinking of Claire, but a plane full of heroin on the Island. So, his true love. And, to disagree with Jacob Levy's post, Charlotte was Daniel's true love, and he clearly started to see beyond his time fame before meeting Desmond, sparked by seeing Charlotte.
Anyhow, that is it for now.
