The NY Mets are the first team I was ever aware of, having been raised my first few years in the shadow of Shea Stadium. So, I am mighty pleased that they finally had a no-hit game by Johann Santana. Santana has been hurt much of his time in NY, making his big contract seem not worth it. But if any big contract can be worth it (debatable), finally giving the Mets its first no-hitter gives Santana reason not worry so much about the $$. Given how many great pitchers threw for the Mets and how many of them ended up with no-hitters in their post-Mets destinations, it is cool that they got a great pitcher who threw one for them for a change. Woo hoo!
